A much needed aesthetic update and some other goodies were introduced to my phone this morning as I updated to the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Poking around I found a few new settings, a snappier experience, and overall nice update. Way to go Google! *Thumbs up*

A Designer Is…

…someone who facilitates a client’s goals. Design means the culmination of history, theory, and critical thinking to solve a problem in a fantastic way. A designer is trained in the ideas of many before them and mixes this knowledge with their own personal stamp.

A designer is not an extension of the client’s hand. Knowing design programs is not the goal. A client does’t guide the designer. In the best scenario, the two work together to achieve something great and in doing so, provide each other with a wealth of beneficial experience.

I’m the kind of nerd that spends a lot on his rig. Sometimes I snap off a picture or two inside the case because I’ve always loved the lights and the feel of industrial architecture. A quick snap with a new lens, but it turned out pretty cool.

Circuit City, the Land of Electrons
I’ve saved motherboards and random PCB’s from a ton of broken or obsolete electronics throughout the years. I’m talking a few big boxes full. I ended up finding them while packing some things up the other day and decided to make a city out of the pieces. In our society we often function in the exact same ways a computer does. Our cities bustle with activity that from a macro perspective looks like a neat little order. I wanted to try and capture a tangent of that reality.
